Established in 1976, Galligan College is Ireland’s longest owner-established third level beauty college.
We deliver progressive, innovative professional hair and beauty courses, for all levels, with a reputation for creating the next generation of top Irish beauty professionals.
Who We Are
The Galligan Beauty College is a family run business, originally set up by Kay Galligan. The college’s directors, Careena and Lorraine Galligan have a wealth of experience in the beauty industry, and Lorraine is regularly sought out by CIDESCO to examine internationally. As directors, they have worked tirelessly to ensure that their high standards of excellence in training is maintained.
Our Reputation
Right in the centre of Dublin city, Galligan College has been located on Grafton Street for the last forty years. Over 7000 Beauty Therapists, Hairdressers, Makeup Artists and Advanced Skin Therapists have walked through our doors and graduated with higher-than-average marks. We care about each and every students needs on an individual basis, so that everyone who graduates is leaving with a qualification they know will help them reach their goals.

Lorraine Galligan

Lorraine has been involved in the Beauty industry for over 30 years, having travelled extensively during her time as a therapist and an educator. Lorraine’s passion now is to pass on all her learnt knowledge to the next generation of therapists and pushing students to do their best so that once they have completed their training at the Galligan College, they can stand out in the beauty industry and quickly gain employment.

Careena has worked and co-owned the Galligan College for over 30 years, Careena’s experience in the Beauty Industry is very vast from running successful Beauty Salons, Equipment and product distribution, Health and fitness training to lecturing. Her passion and focus now is on advising prospective students with course advise and is passionate about the student journey within Galligan College.

Mary first joined the Galligan Group over 25 years ago now, having worked within the Salon and Spa Industry for almost 10 years before pursuing a path in Education. Mary has learnt the highest standard of the industry requirements as a therapist which is shown through her teaching. As the popularity of the level 4 Laser and IPL course grew, she now also teaches our most advanced course in Laser and IPL treatments.

Celena, first joined the Galligan College as a Saturday lecturer but with her specialised knowledge in high end luxury cosmetics and skincare qualifications she soon moved to a senior lecturer in Advanced Skincare. Celena brings endless passion and enthusiasm to the classroom and goes above and beyond to help her students to succeed to be the next generation of advanced skin specialist. To add to her many achievements, Celena has also written a number of books on topics such as micro needling, skin peels and food for healthy skin.

Claire, has been in the Beauty and Holistic industry for over 20 years working in high end salons and spas before joining the team of lecturers at the Galligan College. Claire is passionate about all things holistic and well-being and specialises in teaching body therapy and holistic massage. Claire has also achieved numerous international qualifications in specialised areas and tutor’s therapists to upskill in subjects such as deep tissue massage, stone therapy, pregnancy massage and infant massage. Students continue to learn from Claire’s endless passion and knowledge.

Megan Dagg
Administration | Marketing
Having attended courses in marketing and multimedia, Megan now manages the marketing department for the Galligan Group. Having a strong interest in the beauty and make up industry Megan moved on from working in the business sector and now along with other members of the Galligan team creates marketing content for the website, blogs and social platforms. Megan is also on hand to help students with advice on course structure, career development and CV’s.

Tanya Kelly

Tanya has worked in the Beauty Industry for the past 20 years of which 15 are with the Galligan Beauty Clinic. Having travelled for a number of years gaining endless experience in many prestigious hotels and spas Tanya now focuses on keeping up to date on current trends and products to help inform clients about choosing the right treatments and preforming the best treatment possible to get results.
